Tonight local indie rock outfit Saint Motel's (LAist Interview) will be performing at the Roxy with none other than Rumspringa (LAist Review, #2) and Army Navy (LAist Interview, #2, Review). LA-based indie rock troubadour Nico Stai is poised to grace Spaceland. And, lastly, San Franciscan alt-rockers Birds & Batteries will be taking on the American Legion Post 206. But we strongly suggest heading over to Siren Studio to catch Kansas City-bred Grammy Award-nominated pop singer-songwriter Janelle Monae. LAist favorites, afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold are slated to kick things off.

                     

After a successful inaugural season that included The Afternoons, The Deadly Syndrome, The Parson Red Heads, Whispertown 2000, The Broken West, Le Switch, Radar Bros., The One AM Radio, Eulogies, Langhorne Slim, One Trick Pony, Local Natives, and Saint Motel, the family-friendly Kidrockers LA returns this Sunday to The Echo, hosted by comedians Matt Dwyer and Matt Braunger with music by The Damselles & the TC4 and Quazar & the Bamboozled.

Tonight In Rock: Blitzen Trapper, Pop Levi, Saint Motel, Best Coast

Tonight Portland's own experimental rock sextet Blitzen Trapper (LAist Interview) will be headlining the El Rey Theatre with none other than Baltimore-bred folk rock duo Wye Oak (LAist Interview) in tow. English psych-pop singer-songwriter Pop Levi (LAist Review) is poised to take on the Roxy with local experimental rock duo El Ten Eleven. And, lastly, LA-based alt-country troubadour Leslie and the Badgers will be closing out their residency at the Echo with local lo-fi pop act Best Coast. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch the final night of local indie rock outfit Saint Motel's (LAist Interview) month-long residency. LAist favorites, Burbank-based experimental psych folk outfit Gangi (LAist Review) and Silver Lake-based indie rockers Links are slated to perform as well.

The unnecessarily abrasive Buddyhead-backed rock act known as the Icarus Line is poised to take on the Silver Lake Lounge. Local folk singer-songwriter Frank Fairfield will be performing at the Redwood Bar & Grill in Downtown. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch alt-country troubadour Leslie and the Badgers. LAist favorites Olin & the Moon (LAist Interview) are slated to kick things off.

Tonight London-based neo-soul singer Adele will be performing at the Hollywood Bowl with LAist favorite Janelle Monae. Omaha-based indie rockers Cursive are poised to grace the Henry Fonda Music Box with Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band in tow. And, lastly, early on in the day Silver Lake-based indie rock outfit Local Natives (LAist Interview) will be playing at the Echo with Saint Motel (LAist Interview) for this month's edition of Kidrockers. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Wiltern to catch French alternative rockers Phoenix. LAist favorites Amazing Baby are slated to kick things off.

Tonight Grammy Award winning R&B singer Robin Thicke will be headlining Nokia Theatre in Downtown. Parisian composer and musician Yann Tiersen is poised to share the El Rey Theatre with none other than Brooklyn-based shoegazer Asobi Seksu. And, lastly, Iowa-bred deep-blues vocalist/musician William Elliott Whitmore will be headlining the Knitting Factory's Main Stage. But we strongly suggest heading over to BOXeight to catch local buzz band Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, who will be performing alongside a handful of stellar LA-based acts like Megapuss, thenewno2, Fool's Gold, Rainbow^Arabia and Saint Motel.

Tonight the Music Tapes, a NY-based experimental indie-pop project of Elephant Six member Julian Koster, will be performing at the Echoplex. LA's own indie rockers Saint Motel (LAist Interview) are slated to rock Spaceland. And, lastly, local country troubadour Mike Stinson will be headlining an early show at the Echo. But we strongly recommend heading over to All Star Lanes in Eagle Rock to catch the Flying Tourbillon Orchestra (LAist Review, #2).
