We're pretty pleased that we scored 7 out of 8 of our TV picks for yesterday's Screen Actors Guild Awards. The only TV win we missed was Betty White's for "Hot In Cleveland" which even she wasn't expecting. We love Betty White, we enjoyed interviewing her at last year's SAG Awards, but this award was a mistake and it doesn't reflect well on the organization. more ›

Hard to believe it's already been a year since we last went to the Screen Actors Guild Awards and while it's a shame that we won't be there this year, we look forward to going back next year. [check out our 2009 and 2010 coverage]. Was it only last year that Sandra Bullock pulled then-husband Jesse James onto the stage in the press room to urge us all to applaud for this "handsome" man who "has been so supportive" of her and her efforts? I guess we'll be missing timeless moments like that this year. We felt awful for her but, then again, look at that frickin' guy, it's like she was asking for trouble. more ›

Tonight is the last episode of the Conan O'Brien version of "The Tonight Show" on NBC before it reverts back to the Jay Leno version. We predicted there would be problems with putting Leno on at 10pm as far back as December of 2008 but we never dreamed that NBC would make such a complete and utter screw up of things. How much more does Jeff Zucker have to screw up before the board cans his ass (and throw Dick "The Dick" Ebersol out while you're at it)? more ›

We were initially surprised at how badly we did with our Golden Globe picks compared to the winners in last night's broadcast but when we realized how little we have in common with a film reviewer from Luxembourg we felt a lot better. Yes, a small group (<100) of foreign journalists award Golden Globes for what they consider the "best" in American TV programming and we couldn't second guess them - fail, we only got 4 out of 11 right. It might have helped if we knew which networks might have thrown them soirees in advance but that info wasn't available. Supposedly the fact that they are so malleable is something that makes the Golden Globes "cooler than the Oscars" according to CNN, but we're not buying it. more ›

Word has it that several of the networks (perhaps the one walking away with fewer or no awards) are in talks with our friends at the Paley Center to produce an alternative to the Emmys. more ›
