Allee Willis is a lot of things - songwriter, artist, director, performer, hostess extraordinaire, and owner of a fab mid-centry modern home -- the list goes on. Personally, I love her for introducing me to Bud Cort and for writing "Boogie Wonderland". Just try to listen to that song and not boogie.

With so many fantastic queens competing to be the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, very few fans expected BeBe Zaraha Benet, the Minneapolis queen born in Cameroon, to beat out experienced veterans of runways, cabarets, and the Vegas stage to take the throne. BeBe speaks to us from a phone at the airport as she and her manager dash to Los Angeles for tonight's Real Fruit tour stop at the Eleven.

Tammie Brown was eliminated in episode 2 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” but that didn’t stop her from turning sour grapes into the sweet champagne of success. She will be performing alongside Drag Race winner BeBe Zahara Benet at tonight’s Real Fruit Tour stop at Eleven Restaurant and Bar.

NBC made sold $260 million worth of ads for yesterday's Super Bowl - forgetting the movie trailers (GI Joe?), what was your favorite ad?

LAist has watched Project Runway with Santino Rice and thrown finale parties. We have followed his career through amazing times of designing Joanne Heyler's gown for the BCAM opening to visiting his magical design studio downtown. So when Santino told LAist he would be a judge for RuPaul's new reality show, we knew it would be something special.

                     

Tonight RuPaul's Drag Race premieres on LOGO. World of Wonder in Hollywood threw a wild opening party for the show last week filled with drag-themed artwork. The turnout was tremendous and the room quickly went from "SRO" to Fire Marshall at the door". The event was at capacity and under threat of being shut down even before the red carpet was finished. Which left the stars of the show, RuPaul, A-list invitees and certain (cough) photographers stranded outside.

                     

Last week World of Wonder threw an opening celebration for a new incredible exhibit of drag queen themed art. LAist was there to see the most beautiful people in LA arrive in droves to celebrate the upcoming premiere on February 2nd of RuPaul's Drag Race.

The Sundance Film Festival starts today which not only means cool movies being screened and attended by celebrities in their hippest Dumb & Dumber apres-skiwear but it means a lot more content for the Sundance Channel for the year. There will be live blogging of the festival's events at the Sundance Channel's (really cool!) website and head on over to iTunes to pick up a free short film from Sundance every day from now to January 25th.
