Saturday may have been the official National Rum Day, but who says we can't celebrate whenever the hell we want (and who gets to make up these national days? Do these people get paid? How do I get that job?)?

       

Rum has long been relegated to second-class status in bars. Its flavor is typically masked by strong mixers like grenadine, coconut, pineapple and lime juice. Really, it's no wonder considering the harshness of the standard rums available.

It still feels like summer, but it's time to say adieu as it officially ended last week. There is no better way to say goodbye than spend it on the beach sipping some rum mixed with fruit in Malibu.
