CBS Rumored to Be Selling AM Radio Station KFWB

CBS may have to heed cautions issued by the FCC and unload one of their LA radio stations in order to "comply with federal restrictions on the number of stations that can be owned in a single market," reports LA Observed. This puts their floundering KFWB 980 AM station at-risk of being sold, since it has not done well since its switch to "a largely conservative talk format" (aka "The new home of Dr. Laura") last year. Although CBS has fought this rule for a long time, it seems they cannot avoid it any longer. Speculation is that KFWB's new owners "would be foreign-language broadcasters." more ›

According to the BBC News, visitors to the US "will need to fill in an electronic form at least 72 hours before they travel," and "those who have not registered risk being detained and sent back home."
