Fans of Adult Swim's "Robot Chicken" have been eagerly anticipating this Sunday's premiere of "Star Wars: Episode II" at 11:30pm. Known as "TV for those with ADD", this brainchild of Seth Green and Matthew Senreich broadcast the first "Star Wars" special in June of 2007. This time they've recruited Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher, Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks), Conan O'Brien, and many more to provide voices for the myriad of characters.
After receiving an Emmy nomination for its first Star Wars episode (which was released to DVD yesterday), Seth Green's "Robot Chicken" is going full steam ahead on "Star Wars Episode II" - while I don't know if they can top their first time out, the players lined up to do voices this time include: Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Seth MacFarlane, Conan O'Brien, and Andy Richter.
Jamie Kaler, the stand-up comedian and actor originally from Boston has been on TV for over a decade with appearances in everything from "Will and Grace" to "The New Adventures of Old Christine" but we were given the chance to talk to him about starring in TBS's "My Boys" (Tonight at 10:40pm) as well as sneak a few questions in about his work on Seth Green's amazing "Robot Chicken".
I vaguely remember the '80s so the return of American Gladiator to the screen presents me with a nauseating wave of nostalgia that I want to boogie board to the fullest. Then again, I vaguely remember the '70s and the relaunch of the Bionic Woman left a lot to be desired. But hey, we live in America, and with enough boobies and violence, American Gladiator could have the required recipe for success.
Thankfully I had Tivo'd Sunday's Kenny vs. Spenny and Robot Chicken to watch last night because after the first 15 minutes of Saving Grace I couldn't take any more. Unfortunately I tuned back into SG in time to catch Lem giving Holly Hunter a hand job which was so not worth it. In case you missed him last week, you have a couple more chances to go to a Q&A with writer/creator David Milch at the WGA Theater tomorrow and Thursday from 2:15-4:00pm for FREE.
HBO is kicking off the season with a slew of offerings, so for those of you moneybags who pay for premium TV, enjoy: 9:00pm Tell Me You Love Me HBO - This new sex drama, purportedly featuring actual X-rated penetration, is rapidly approaching overhyped status. Despite the hot and heavy action, supposedly it's very depressing but because of the sex I'm sure it will last at least a season. Now if only those poor Geico...
With the fall TV season just around the corner, a flood of your favorite series hit the stores today. What better way to whet your appetite for what promises to be a long, great Season 4 of ). Lohan finally hits bottom.
Saturday Other than sporting events, including NFL pre-season football (we're practically only just out of July for chrissakes), all there is, if you are a glutton for punishment, is a Doris Day Marathon on TCM - the 12 movie block started at 3:00am so you'd best pop some corn and get that ass on a couch. Sunday 10:00pm Roast of Flavor Flav Comedy Central - Snoop, Patton Oswalt, Jimmy Kimmel, and the rest of...
Who doesn't love the Peanuts gang? Especially during the holidays. Dancing in Hell....
