Coroner Completes Michael Jackson Autopsy, Withholds Results

The Los Angeles County Coroner announced today that their "thorough and comprehensive" investigation into the death of Michael Jackson has been completed. However, the LAPD has requested the information remain confidential as their investigation continues. "The extension of security measures will help maintain the integrity of the investigation and allow investigators from LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division, as well as our partner law enforcement agencies to continue their investigation," they explained in a statement. Further questions about the investigation will not be answered. As for Jackson's body, his family is still deciding where to bury him.

Opponents of Proposition 8, the ballot initiative that sought to eliminate gay marriage in California, haven't conceded that they have been beaten yet. Today a petition was filed in the California Supreme Court and a large amount of ballots are reportedly still unaccounted for.

Although not all precincts have reported in (5%) more to go as of 8:45 a.m., the writing is on the wall--Proposition 8, the ballot initiative that sought to eliminate gay marriage in California has done just that. A close race, yes, but yes votes outnumbered no votes by over 400,000, or 4.2%. Even in LA County, the majority of voters said yes on Prop 8.

Measure R, the ballot initiative that sought to raise LA County's sales tax a half percent on the dollar barely won by a 1% margin--it needed a two-thirds vote. Even though about 3.5 million county residents voted, over a million of those voters opted to not vote for the measure that is expected to bring in $40 billion in transportation funding over the next 30 years.
