Legendary punk rockers the Circle Jerks are poised to perform at the Key Club. And, lastly, Argentine folk songstress Juana Molina will be gracing the Make Music Pasadena Festival, which is set to take place at a variety of venues across Old Town Pasadena, with none other than Portland-based singer-songwriter Mirah. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Smell in Downtown to catch Portland-based electro-pop act Starfucker (LAist Review, #2). LAist favorites Captain Ahab, Atole and Halloween Swim Team are all slated to share the tiny stage.

The talented soul man Raphael Saadiq headlined at the House of Blues on Monday night, and I arrived determined to dance until there were holes in my shoes. His latest The Way I See It had been on repeat in my car for most of 2008. Call it neo-Motown, retro boogie, soul revival, whatever, Saadiq had created one of the best albums of the year and I was thrilled to be able to review the show. Then I got to the box office.

Tonight Hüsker Dü front man, NY-based singer-songwriter Bob Mould will be performing at the Hotel Café. LA-based indie rocker Nico Stai is poised to kick off a month-long residency at Spaceland. And, lastly, LAist favorites the Monolators (LAist Review, #2) will be gracing the Echo with the Hectors. But we strongly suggest heading over to the House of Blues Sunset to catch Oakland-bred retro-soul singer Raphael Saadiq.
