2 Men Sentenced for Roles in Post-Lakers Championship Melee
Two of the 45 people arrested on June 17 in the vicinity of the Staples Center following the Lakers' NBA Championship win have been handed down sentences for their role in the violence that erupted on the streets, according to LA Now. 20-year-old Mark Hull and 22-year-old Carlos Fuentes face 90 days in jail and a year of probation, during which time they must not go near the Staples Center. Hull is in custody at Camp Pendleton, charged with deserting the Marines. During the post-game melee, Hull threw rocks through a Downtown business' window, and Fuentes broke the lights on a police car.

Shepard Fairey Sentenced to 2 Years Probation
The Echo Park based artist who made President Obama's iconic poster image pleaded guilty today to three vandalism charges in a Boston Municipal Court. Shepard Fairey was accused of 28 counts of vandalism, but prosecutors dropped 14 charges last month and 11 of them today. "He pleaded guilty to one charge of defacing property and two charges of wanton destruction of property under $250," according to the Associated Press. As part of his two-year probation, he will have to pay $2,000 to a graffiti removal organization and is banned from carrying tagging materials unless he is working on a legal art installation.
No Jail Time for Chris Brown, Enters Plea Agreement
A couple hours before today's trial, R&B Singer Chris Brown entered into a plea agreement for pleading guilty to assault while the criminal threats charges were dropped. Under the agreement, Brown will do six months of "community labor" (that's 1400 hours of work), serve five years probation and take a year-long domestic violence prevention class, according to the LA Times. He will also have to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna except at industry events where it will be set to 10 yards.

Friday night, the Beverly Hills Police issued a warrant carrying a $50,000 bail for actress Lindsay Lohan in connection with her duo of DUI arrests from 2007. However, the 22-year-old party girl "won't be in court today to respond," but her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley will appear on her behalf, reports the Daily News. "Holley said she believes the warrant was issued as the result of a misunderstanding and that it should be cleared up in court." The warrant is connected to Lohan's probation, which stipulates she must report to her probation officer, undergo drug testing, participate in alcohol abuse education classes, perform community service, and serve time in jail (she served a whopping 84 minutes). In 2007, the starlet "pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine, no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent and one count of reckless driving."

Yesterday, the Beverly Hills Police Department issued an arrest warrant for actress Lindsay Lohan, according to the Huffington Post. The BHPD released this statement last night:
In response to media inquiries, [the] Beverly Hills Police Department is confirming a warrant was in fact issued today [March 13] for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan. The $50,000 warrant issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court stems from a May 2007 arrest of Miss Lohan for DUI and hit-and-run. The circumstances leading to the issuance of the warrant by the court are not readily available at this time. It is our hope that Miss Lohan will surrender herself so that this matter will be resolved in a timely manner.Back in 2007, Lohan was taken in twice, and "pleaded no contest to being under the influence of cocaine, driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and reckless driving," according to Hollyscoop.com. Part of her plea deal stipulated that she be on probation for 36 months, do 10 days of community service, complete an 18-month alcohol education program, and spend 24 hours in jail (she spent a whopping 84 minutes in jail).
