Now that the writers' strike is over and it's full-steam ahead with the Oscars, you can bet that just about every TV channel is going to dogpile on the gala event. Yeah, the Grammys went ahead without interference but the Grammys are nothing compared to the Oscars. E! and CNN already have several shows lined up (look for Oscar host, Jon Stewart, on Larry King this Wednesday night) ready to tackle the exciting topics of:......

At this point my whole week is focused on getting to AMC's Breaking Bad which debuts this upcoming Sunday. AMC scored a couple Golden Globes with Mad Men, let's see if they can repeat the success. On face value Breaking Bad is more interesting than anything the Big Four have planned for us. Late night is troubling me lately since NBC and Comedy Central aren't posting their guests into the news feeds or their websites......

Once again, MySpace is copying the people who copied them copying Friendster better. Seeing the success of Facebook's ability to have widgets, MySpace and Google are teaming up to do something similar. More fire likely. Just like in 2003 where the wildfires struck, had a week lull and hit hard again the first week of November, firefighters are currently preparing for the return of the Santa Anas, expected to start tomorrow night. High heels......

8:00pm Prison Break FOX - This is a show for teenage boys: enjoy the season premiere kids. 9:00pm Most Honorable Son PBS/KCET - Bio of the first Japanese-American war hero. 9:00pm K-Ville FOX - Series premiere. I much prefer Anthony Anderson as a villain (Antwon Mitchell from "The Shield") rather than a cop. It's a cop series, but set it New Orleans, post-Katrina, but the question is whether or not it will truly leverage......

With the fall TV season just around the corner, a flood of your favorite series hit the stores today. What better way to whet your appetite for what promises to be a long, great Season 4 of The Office, than to check out Season 3 again. I should finally catch up with Sunny in Philadelphia. 30 Rock would be even better without the unfunny Tracey Morgan and the creepy Jack McBrayer. Is Desperate Housewives......

This still May/September romance STILL disturbs me - TMZ I wonder what Whitney will think when in less than two weeks, Vivid Video is set to release video of poor little rich girl Kim Kardashian getting dirty with Whitney's boy toy - Bumpshack Salma Hayek is not only engaged, but preggers! Her soon-to-be hubby is uber rich Frenchman Francois-Henri...is it me or does he look a little like Kevin Spacey? - poponthepop We all felt......

A Word Or 62: I hope to get a hold of at least a couple pints of this new Ben & Jerry's flavor. I am perennially pissed that I can never make it to the local B&J store to get the Pumpkin flavor so I know that this is all a conspiracy. Hopefully this will make red staters boycott B&J which just means - more for me!!! [Note that a lot of late night......

A Word Or 46: The Oscars blew its big TV wad all over the place so let's get on with our lives. The Daily Show and Colbert Report are back from hiatus -- did they think they were doing the Oscars again? What's their excuse? Lots of new TV tonight. Tonight - Monday - February 26th, 2007 Lakers @ Jazz (KCAL, 6:00 p.m.) Bobcats @ Clippers (PRIME, 7:30 p.m.) How I Met Your Mother/The......

He has a blog and he has a Flickr page. That alone makes him cool, right? Well... no, kinda hip, maybe. Anyway, all the buzz these days goes to Presidential Candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL). It would have been Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), but lately, she's reminding us more of the evil Vice President character in Prison Break (it's the way they both talk). Obama is magnetic. So magnetic that "I have never seen......

A Word or 14: Supposedly the Daily Show and Stephen Colbert have the week off - how dare they?! I may have to resort to watching PBS, or, godhelpus, the local news. Today - Monday - February 19th, 2007 The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (TCM, 5:00 p.m.) John Ford's '62 classic with James Stewart, John Wayne, Lee Marvin, Edmond O'Brien, Lee Van Cleef, John Carradine and practically everyone else who was alive at......

A Word or 108: Superbowl Redux: I found myself wandering over to the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet a couple times yesterday, and that isn't a bad thing -- the kitten halftime show was excellent. Almost all the Superbowl commercials had been leaked onto the web a week ago so there was nothing new there. I still can't understand why, with all those professionals there, that it would take almost Prince's entire (fantastic) set......

A Word or 51: I thought I was watching my TiVoed Golden Globes broadcast last night but it turned out to be the Screen Actors Guild Awards with the same winners almost across the board. If the Oscars follow suit can't we just get rid of this circle jerk and have one stinkin' awards show? A Word or 67: I've already seen some State of the Union drinking games posted on the web, so get home early with a bottle of hooch because here again your early primetime programming is to be disrupted by our floundering President and his evil grimacing VP, standing behind him like some kind of Golem. Which Democratic senators is he going to attempt to kiss this time? Lieberman, pucker up mofo. Tonight - Tuesday......

A Word or 80: Spent the weekend in Canada, my first visit, in the province of Quebec to be exact. I found the radio programming to be innovative and excellent but television sucked. I'm sure there's some good programmes (please give me cred for the spelling) out there but in a first glance/overview kind of perspective it was wanting. A Word or 44: The first 1/2 of the "24" season premiere was quite good even though I don't understand how Jack found the terrorist dude before his house got blown up. Also, was there some anal play going on between Jack and the first terrorist guy? Kinky. So Mischa Barton's character Marissa Cooper was killed in an auto accident in the third-season finale last night. Maybe that'll infuse some life into the Fox show that jumped the shark after its first season. But what's to happen with rich boy/poor boy Ryan Atwood (Ben MacKenzie)? Here's what we hope for: We all know that Ryan has anger-management issues. A "drunken and vengeful Volchok" caused the accident, so we expect Ryan to get......

We tuned in a little late to the E! pre-red carpet awards. 5:30pm the "Live" bug in the bottom corner is distracting, because the sun is blaring on Ted (ugh) Casablancas, but it's already set in real life. Live is a lie, we're on time delay here in California. In fact, we've already heard, via KPCC, that George Clooney has won Best Supporting Actor for Syriana. And Rachel Weisz has won Best Supporting Actress;......
