Occupy LA is certainly keeping things interesting for participants. In addition to protests, one organization is offering an interfaith prayer this morning, another will be holding a yoga and meditation session at noon, and a third plans to host a "protest and die-in" towards the end of the day. The first event is hosted by the Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace, and is planned for today to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the invasion of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.

Lancaster Voters to Decide on Prayer at City Council Meetings
Tuesday is election day in various parts of Los Angeles County, but one measure up in the Antelope Valley is making headlines. The city of Lancaster's Measure I asks if invocation from different faiths should continue to be delivered before City Council meetings. The issue was brought up by the ACLU, which threatened to sue, last year. In response, the council put a measure on the ballot to see whether or not the community supports it. "If the vast majority of the community is in favor of this, I think the court should know that," said Mayor R. Rex Parris to the LA Times.
Orange County Pastor Prayed for John Murtha's Death (Obama's, too)
Wiley Drake, a Southern Baptist Pastor in Buena Park, is one of those people trying via legal means to oust President Barack Obama from office, contending he's not a natural born citizen. And that's after he dropped praying for the President's death, saying he now rather see Obama face charges. But other politicians and places are still within Drake's rada like Haiti, which apparently made a deal with Satan, and Congressman John Murtha, who recently passed away.
ACLU to Lancaster Politicians: Stop Your Christian Prayers at Public Meetings
It's not that the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California wants Lancaster officials to stop praying all together at the beginning of meetings, but to stop singling out that Jesus guy.
“The City Council is clearly showing bias toward one religion by leading council and planning meetings with Christian prayers,” said Peter Eliasberg, Manheim Family Attorney for First Amendment Rights at the ACLU/SC in a statement...
Video of the Day: Priest On Board Metrolink Train During Chatsworth Crash Speaks About Helping People, Giving Last Rites
Reverend Donald Ashman, who "leads a small congregation at the Anglican Church of Our Saviour on the Westside of Los Angeles, where he has been for a quarter of a century [and] teaches Latin and world history at Hoover High School in Glendale," was on board Metrolink Train 111 on Friday, September 12th at 4:23 p.m. when it crashed head-on into a Union Pacific Freight Train. Despite his own back injuries sustained in the crash, Ashman remained on scene to help people physically and spiritually. He told firefighters he was a priest, and offered prayers for the dead, including Robert Sanchez, the Metrolink engineer. The LA Times describes Ashman's encounter with Sanchez:
At one point, a firefighter asked him to come with him to pray for the engineer, whose body was still trapped in the wreckage. That blanket wasn't white. It was blood red. Ashman touched his arm, made the sign of the cross and said a quick prayer. The Reverend says of Sanchez: "Whatever he did or intended to do, that's irrelevant [...] Everybody is treated the same in God's eyes."
