A selection of pieces by street artist Banksy and a limited edition Shepard Fairey are at auction today at Bonhams in London. Among the Bansky pieces is a series of commissioned works by Greenpeace as part of a campaign against deforestation that depict cartoon characters from "The Jungle Book" bound and blindfolded against a photographic backdrop of a ravaged forest.

Check This Out: LGBT Street Posters of Past and Present at ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives Gallery
One of the most interesting gallery shows out there right now can be found at the ONE Archives Gallery & Museum in West Hollywood. The show space is actually just a room housed in the West Hollywood Recover Center (the actual archives are on West Adams), but it's one pivotal and important room that can easily fascinate and inform you of the history of LGBT issues in Los Angeles.
Gallery Show at Crewest Selling Affordable Art Prints
This is an idea all galleries could pick up on and gain success with. Take over 40 local artists, ask them to do a series of hand printed posters to be on display and be sold to the common man at affordable prices. The end product? A gallery of beautiful original art with prints starting at $10 (most are around the $30 to $50 range).
Quick Tribute to Flyer-Hubs & Poster Putter-Uppers
One thing I love about L.A. are all the little shops and cafes that let us poor starving artists leave flyers or put up posters for our many different events. Here is a list of just a few such kind souls, to help my fellow independents, and also just to say a heartfelt thanks! (I hope you don't hate me.)
