Free Food Alert: Pink's Hot Dogs at Lunchtime

Not that there needs to be any more reason for a large line at Pink's, today they're giving away free "Pink Panther Dogs" and Pink Lemonade to the first 1,500 customers between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. today. It's all to hype the release of The Pink Panther 2 on DVD. If you go, you will need to score a pink (of course) wristband from the Pink Panther himself.

So The Colber(t) Repor(t) and The Daily Show are back and while Colbert, Stewart, Kimmel, and Conan are all nimble on their feet, and very funny and engaging, it's amazing how the success of all these shows really comes down to the writing. It's great to have them all back on the air and it does provide us all with some late night alternatives, but I hope NBC, ABC, and Viacom come to their senses and end this. The ball is in their court.

It's been a busy summer for 'wild and crazy guy' Steve Martin. From writing a children's book with cartoonist Roz Chast, to finishing his memoir Born Standing Up, and getting ready for an August start date for filming the Pink Panther II, he found time to squeeze in a life changing event. After inviting Tom Hanks, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Carl Reiner, Ricky Jay, and about seventy other friends for a party at his Los Angeles home, the guests were surprised with a wedding. Martin married writer and former New Yorker staffer Anne Stringfield. The ceremony was officiated by former Nebraska senator Bob Kerrey. SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels served as the best man. The bride wore Vera Wang while Martin donned his Inspector Clouseau mustache.

We love being at the beach, but sometimes get bored with the perfect bodies, gorgeous sunsets, and lilting blue waters. Fortunately there is the Santa Monica Drive-In: free screenings of classic and relatively recent films. The screenings occur at the Pier every Tuesday through October 5 and are strictly family-friendly. The tickets for admission are free but you can also buy tickets for a raffle to benefit the Cancer Relief Fund.
