Feathers Fly: Int'l Pillow Fight Day Pummels Pershing Square
All's Feathers in Love & Pillow Fighting: Annual Event Hits Pershing Square Saturday
Feathers will fly tomorrow during the annual melee of goofy, messy fun at Pershing Square for International Pillow Fight Day. The signal will sound at 2 p.m. and all hell--and pillow stuffing--will break loose for the traditional slumber party game turned community gathering that happens all over the world. Attendees are asked to bring a pillow, preferably feather-filled, and be ready to stick around after to clean up the mess. The rules are simple: Hit only people with pillows, and don't hit anyone with a camera. Oh, and have fun. That's pretty much the bottom line.

They came, they saw, they beat the crap out of each other with pillows.
Join Your Fine, Feathered Friends for Pillow Fight Day Saturday
For pretty much no reason except silly fun, people in cities all over the world will meet up on Saturday April 3rd to take part in International Pillow Fight Day. Part of the "urban playground movement," this is a non-commercial event aimed at having people take part as participants, not consumers, and to give people the chance to do something playful in public space. Okay, and it's really fun to smash into friends and strangers with feather-filled pillows.
Did Somebody say 'Pillow Fight'?!?!?!
Hundreds of Angelenos heeded the call of International Pillow Fight Day by assembling in Pershing Square, armed with pillows and many dressed in goofy get-ups. At exactly 3 p.m. the buzzer sounded, and it was every man, woman, and child for themselves as the blows began to land and the feathers flew. And boy, did those feathers fly!
Photo Essay - Pershing Square Pillow Fight
Several hundred people squared off in Pershing Square yesterday to help celebrate International Pillowfight Day. LAist brought you a wonderful photo essay on the event last night. And since about 500 of the 300 people at the pillowfight had cameras, I suspect these aren't the last photos you will be seeing from the event.
