Phil Jackson Says He'll Coach Lakers One More Year

Will it be a 12th NBA Championship for Phil Jackson? Although the Los Angeles Lakers coach had hinted he was ready to retire, 64-year-old Jackson has said today that he's ready to coach the team for another season, crediting a week-long vacation at his off-season home in Montana for re-invigorating him, according to cbs2. "It'll be the last stand for me, and I hope a grand one," he said in a news release. The Lakers franchise is happy with Jackson's announcement, reports ESPN. "We're extremely pleased that Phil has decided to return," said Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak, adding, "He's not only the best coach for this team, but quite simply the best coach in the history of the NBA." more ›
