Tonight In Rock: Peaches, The Spires, Deep Sea Diver, The Monthlies

Tonight Ventura-based indie pop duo the Spires will be performing at the Echo as "the Velvet Underground" for this week's edition of Part Time Punks. Long Beach's own pop songstress (and general lass) Jessica Dobson will be performing at Spaceland under the pseudonym Deep Sea Diver (LAist Review). And, lastly, LA-based pop rockers the Monthlies will be taking on the Viper Room. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Henry Fonda Music Box to catch Toronto-based electronica musician Peaches, who will be concluding a two-night stint. more ›

And, lastly, LA-based afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold will be performing at 3 Clubs with Abe Vigoda and Thee Makeout Party in tow. LA-based rockers Beware of Safety are slated to kick things off. And please, for the love of Pehrspace, keep the noise to a minimum! more ›

Home is Where the Peaches Are

Home is Where the Peaches Are

Time for a little more cuisine of the obvious. For a couple of years now, each summer has a Ben & Jerry's flavor I like best. 2006 was Oatmeal chocolate chunk with cinnamon ice cream, chunks of oatmeal cookies and dark chocolate. Last summer, it was brownie batter. The brownie batter made the chocolate deepen the chocolate flavor. This year, I surprised myself. A friend gave me the idea of peaches and ice cream--went to the market, and they were out of Breyers vanilla, soI picked up some Ben & Jerry's. more ›

Peaches Rocks The House

Peaches Rocks The House

Peaches was in town for two days last week to rock the house and show all the Hollywood hipsters what it means to be comfortable with your body and own sexuality. For Peaches, this means wearing as little as possible throughout the show, guzzling a bottle of water so part of it streams down her chest, changing onstage into various getups with shoes to boot and making uncountable hand motions pointing to both her... more ›
