Tonight Talking Heads splinter, legendary new wave duo Tom Tom Club will be headlining the Echoplex. Local electronic mastermind James Tamborello, otherwise known as Dntel, is poised to take on the Bootleg Theater with none other than LA-based orchestral pop duo the Long Lost, a collaboration between Alfred Darlington (otherwise known as electronic mastermind Daedelus) and his wife Laura. And, lastly, LA-by-way-of-Colorado folk troubadour Patrick Park will be gracing the Echo Park United Methodist Church with local indie rock outfit Sea Wolf (LAist Interview, Review, #2, #3). But we strongly suggest heading over to the Smell in Downtown to catch Oxnard-bred lo-fi garage rock trio Catwalk.

Tonight In Rock: Sea Wolf, The Parson Red Heads, Rachael Cantu, Toots & The Maytals
Tonight local indie pop outfit the Parson Red Heads (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4) will be gracing McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Mon Mon. LA-based singer-songwriter Rachael Cantu is poised to warm up the stage at the Bootleg Theater for San Franciscan chamber-punk outfit Bonfire Madigan. And, lastly, Jamaican reggae outfit Toots & the Maytals will be taking on the Key Club in Hollyweird. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Autry National Center of the American West in the heart of Griffith Park to catch local indie rock outfit Sea Wolf (LAist Interview, Review, #2, #3). LAist favorites, LA-by-way-of-Colorado folk troubadour Patrick Park—who is touring in support of his third full-length effort to date, 2010's Come What Will—is slated to kick things off.
LAist Interview: Patrick Park
Los Angeles’ favorite troubadour, , is playing at Tangiers tonight with Charlie Wadhams and the Shivers, which will be undoubtedly a stellar show. With brutally intelligent lyrics about the nuances of love, loss, and starting over, Park’s songs force the listener to pay attention to the details of our lives instead of just muddling through. If the devil is in the details, Park’s music has no problems inviting him in and buying him a drink. For what is life, if not trying to understand the particulars of what just happened? Park was kind enough to talk to us and elaborate the particulars of his own story last week.
