LAist was driving down Melrose the other day, thinking about how we probably weren't going to be able to get another year out of our windshield wiper blades, when the curtain of rain parted and a silver leviathan emerged from the drizzle. Its metallic flank blotted out the damp cityscape as it passed, and inside could be seen a handful of people, looking very smug and dry in the belly of the beast.

Traffic in LA is bad. The State of California is unable to provide money to help alleviate said traffic. What's a cash-strapped transit authority like the MTA to do?
