  • And the "Dumbest Criminal of the Week" award goes to: The two bank robbers from Hemet who were arrested when they returned to the scene of their crime 45 minutes later. The robbery was at a Bank of America in Temecula just before 6 last night. The two men drove back into the parking lot after they had forced a teller to hand over money via a demand note--but bank staffers had jotted down the license plate number of their getaway vehicle and were already following them.     Late last week the MTA board announced plans to convert some of LA County's car-pool lanes on heavily traveled freeways to toll lanes. The Daily News reported thatUnder the plan, solo drivers could use the car-pool lanes if they pay a toll. Vehicles with two or more occupants - which currently use the lanes for free - would also pay a toll, although less than solo drivers. It's unclear how the plan would apply... more ›

    Last Thursday morning started out great. I jumped in my car listening to mix of morning shows, but left off listening to Kenny Chesney’s “You Save Me” on KZLA. When I returned to my car around noon to venture off downtown, KZLA had a grand surprise – it vanished, leaving the LA and OC counties country-less. LA has now joined the side of New York City and other metropolitan areas in life without a country music radio station. more ›
