There’s a screening tonight at the Hammer Museum for Ed Hardy: Tattoo the World. It traces the life of California artist Don Ed Hardy who decided at age 10 to be a tattoo artist. “After receiving a classical art education with Asian influences, he went on to initiate tattooing’s unprecedented global popularity. The documentary explores the Seattle punk rock band and the rape/murder of the band's singer Mia Zapata.”It was a crime unsolved when director Kerri O'Kane began shooting her debut feature.
