Score another one for modern technology and crime solving: The Los Angeles Police Department have announced an arrest made for a "cold case" murder that took place on L.A.'s Westside in 1978. Detectives in Delaware, Ohio, took 62-year-old Walter Randolph Peartree into custody at his home earlier this morning on a warrant obtained by the LAPD.

Lisette Lee, 29, was coordinating flights on her parents' private jet since 2009 until she was arrested by DEA agents in Columbus in June 2010 after landing in a private jet chartered from Van Nuys with three friends and over 500 pounds of marijuana stuffed into 13 suitcases. She has been in federal custody since her arrested and pleaded guilty last February to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana.

A homeless man suspected of setting off a homemade bomb next to the Chabad House in Santa Monica last week was arrested late Monday when he was spotted in the vicinity of the Chabad House in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, according to the LA Times. 60-year-old Ron Hirsch, who sometimes goes by Israel Fisher, fled Los Angeles after the Thursday incident, and on Monday, the FBI revealed he had been seen disembarking a New York-bound Greyhound bus in Denver, Colorado.
Private Pot Plane: Socialite Pleads Guilty To Drug Smuggling
Lisette Lee, the Beverly Hills socialite and actress who left on a private jet from Van Nuys airport in June and was subsequently arrested in Columbus, Ohio for smuggling more than 500 pounds of marijuana inside 13 suitcases, has pleaded guilty. At the time of the arrest, authorities also confiscated cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, three cell phones and suspected drug ledgers from Lee's bag.
Honey-Voiced Homeless Man Detained In Hollywood
Ted Williams, the recently un-homeless Ohio man turned internet sensation with a golden-toned radio voice was "briefly detained" by Los Angeles police during an argument with a woman identified as his daughter at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood Monday night. According to officers, the argument occurred around 9:00 p.m. and led to a disturbance report.

Local Serial Rape Suspect Killed in Ohio Pursuit
Abram Bynum, 35, was killed by Columbus Police officers yesterday in Ohio at the end of a high-speed chase on Interstate 70. Before moving to Columbus, Bynum lived in the Antelope Valley and is accused of five rapes that happened between 2004 and 2007, according to the LA Times.
