Here's a little tale of media "b" "s": Apparently typing O-b-a-m-a instead of O-s-a-m-a is as easy to do as it is to not catch before the graphics go up on air. While many were quick to scoff at Fox News and at least one of their affiliates for the typo-blooper, our local ABC television affiliate KABC-7 can count themselves among those for whom the "s" in Osama was replaced with a "b" for Obama.

Headline Of the Day: "Smoke reported at hookah lounge"
We get to have a lot more fun with our headlines (as in "Palm Springs Granny Robs Bank While Wearing Floppy Hat," et al) than the folks at more mainstream, big business news outlets. But sometimes, if you catch them at the right time, you can spot a little wink coming from the headline of a post on one of those kinds of sites, like today, at the OC Register, who we can thank for the headline of the day: "Smoke reported at hookah lounge."
Which Fast Food Chain Makes the Best French Fries?
Inquiring minds want to know: Which of the fast food chains operating here in Southern California make the best french fries? Actually, it is the Fast Food Maven at the OC Register who is wondering, and you can chip in with your pick in their poll. Wendy's is about to debut a "hotter, crispier" box of fried starchy goodness that are "skin-on fries seasoned with sea salt." Sea salt! How chic! Meanwhile, you might be a loyalist (McDonald's), a purist (In-N-Out), or non-conformist (Jack in the Box's curly fries). However, we can't fathom who would select "tube steak smothered in underware [sic]" from the list. You must really hate fries.
This Year's 'Best of Orange County' Winners Announced
For the 17th consecutive year, the OC Register turned to the people who know the OC the best to come up with their list of winners for the "2010 Best of Orange County." Dozens of retail, restaurant, and recreation spaces earned top spots in the six main categories: Arts & Entertainment, Food & Drink, Outdoors, Pets, Places, and Shopping & Services.
Tito Ortiz vs. Oscar De La Hoya: Battle of the Book Signings
In the last five years, mixed martial arts has experienced a surge in popularity, thanks largely to the mainstream emergence of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. With MMA on the rise and it's cousin in combat sports, boxing currently holding on for dear life, the debate over which is the superior sport is rampant. Despite the fact that the two sports are quite different, the war of words wages on (a Google search for "MMA vs boxing" brings back 10,700 results).

What would you do to see a newly reunited Rage Against the Machine playing on the same stage and day as Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, The Roots, Nas and Talib Kweli?
