Orange County Republican Tan Nguyen, who campaigned to unseat Democratic US Rep. Loretta Sanchez in 2006, was sentenced today for "to a year and a day in prison for obstruction of justice in a probe of a mailer sent to Latino voters," reports the AP. The mailer, sent to 14,000 registered Democrats with Latino last names, said that immigrants would not be allowed to vote.
