Last Saturday, pornstar, American Apparel model, and Fleshbot Crush Object Faye Reagan -- who is on the back cover of the current issue of LA Weekly -- celebrated her 21st birthday with a party at a lavish Encino mansion high above the San Fernando Valley.

Since its creation in 2006, the Vivid Entertainment imprint has released 18 movies and utilized an all-star roster of directors that includes Vivid-Alt head Eon McKai (MySpace), photographers Octavio "Winkytiki" Arizala (MySpace) and Dave Naz (MySpace), artist Vena Virago (MySpace), and pornstar Kimberly Kane (MySpace). 2009 looks to be its biggest year to date, with 30 nominations at last month's 2009 AVN Adult Movie Awards, the release earlier this month of Kane's , and ambitious plans by McKai to expand the Vivid-Alt brand online.

Jim Wirt is a St. Louis native living in LA, but most people know him as Gay Bigfoot. The 42-year-old North Hollywood resident moved out to Los Angeles in 1996 and is a local artist who recently found himself in the middle of some online censorship when he tried to get one of his pieces printed on a t-shirt. Some photographers are just lucky. They were in the right place at the right time. They were there to ride the crest of a burgeoning scene. Not so for Ann Summa. She may have been snapping away while LA's punk rock scene took its very first breath, but the timelessness of her photography is not sheer luck. Ann Summa's photographs could stand up to the best of them even if they were pictures of random people taken at the bus stop. Her use of lights and darks is striking, and she is able to capture the intensity of people like Tomata du Plenty and the cool detachment of Dianne Chai.

Fashion in Los Angeles is arguably one of the most dynamic aspects of our city. While what typically is considered "LA style" may be snuffed by our east coast and European counterparts, there is no question that fashion is one of LA's primary economies, consistently flourishing thanks to globalization, our ports, and obviously our innate coolness. The great thing about LA is that nobody cares how you dress. Anything can be fashion here. Doesn't it feel like you'll be ostracized if you happen to be wearing flip flops in any other city? Where else can you sport leather, chains, a miniskirt, and an iPhone, and not get at least a few looks? We recently met up with Tod and Guiliana from Junker Designs, the most hardcore rock apparel this side of the Mississippi, to sit down and rummage through his leathery treasures.
