Another Police Car Chase with Teens & Children

If last week's deaths of three kids (one of them was at the wheel) in a police pursuit wasn't enough, five were involved in one last night that began in Norwalk. Shortly before midnight, police tried to pull over a red Chevy Corsica that was reported to be stolen when the 13 or 14-year-old driver sped off with four other passengers aged 12 to 14. About an hour later, California Highway Patrol performed the PIT maneuver causing the car to crash into the fence. No one was injured and the teens were all taken into custody.

People came out in droves to vote early over the weekend at the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's office in Norwalk. The line on Saturday just before polls opened at 8 a.m. wrapped around the voting tents, down the sidewalk, along the length of the office building before turning the corner.

The Los Angeles County Clerk's Office in Norwalk is the only place to vote between now and Tuesday, Nov. 4. If you want to vote early, it's advised that you arrive early, give yourself at least an hour, and be prepared to wait.

Road Sage Steve Hymon questions what if the Green Line went all the way to the Norwalk Metrolink station (we'll add in, "how about LAX?").

A man who tried to get away from Transit Sheriff's Deputies on a Metrolink Train yesterday was shot at, but not hit. Police were checking fares in Norwalk when one man split after the train doors opened.

Morning headlines today have not been an exemplary one for public safety, both accident and crime-wise. The big ticket item was the eastbound 10 Freeway being closed in Covina after a 4:45 a.m. accident between a van and motorcycle that left the two-wheeler dead. All lanes were closed and one was reported open at 7 a.m. Also in Norwalk, a five-car crash caused three soundbound lanes on the 605 to be closed shortly before 8 a.m. There were several injuries, but none warranting transport to the hospital.

This is your last warning. Don't go posting those Oscar screeners on the Internet. Not now, and not ever! After all, you could end up like Salvador Nunez Jr., a 27-year-old Norwalk resident who was charged today with copyright infringement. Nunez allegedly got DVD copies of Flushed Away from his sister, who has the privilege of reviewing cartoons for the Academy. The MPAA knows this because they imprint digital watermarks on all screeners in...
