- Pod Killer: 4 dolphins have been shot to death and discovered between Carlsbad State Beach and Oceanside Harbor between May 29 and June 5. - Tweaked: More police officers, extra cones, Scott Avenue, a lane on the 110 Freeway = better Dodger Parking? You be the judge. - Finally: The disputed Union Rescue Mission, which will serve more than 200 women and children off skid row and into transitional housing, can finally open its......

After yesterday's citizen forester training, we decided to join a tree planting up in Lake View Terrace in the Northeast Valley to see a citizen forester in action. A teenage girl led it for her Girl Scout troop, planting 25 trees at the Lake View Terrace Recreation Center. Supported by TreePeople, the morning was a cinch. However, with Big Sunday (are you volunteering?), the mayor is busier than usual for a weekend. He has six appearances from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. ranging from hanging with the Black Eyed Peas at Paramount Studios, giving trees away with the......

If you think you can just throw it in the trash, you're wrong. That would be really bad for the environment and bad for your check book. Occasionally, there are e-waste events around the city, but lucky for us, the City of LA has six S.A.F.E. Centers (Solvents, Automotive, Flammables, Electronics) that are open to the public a few days a week as a free service. Today, we headed to the Sun Valley S.A.F.E.......
