The Emmys are finally here and we'll be reporting them live today. I'll be on the red carpet where arrivals are expected to start at 2:30pm and conclude at 4:45pm. We'll be tweeting via @TheTVJunkie and we will attempt to Ustream from the red carpet at our channel depending on how pummeled the cellular network is in downtown LA. Lindsay William-Ross will be liveblogging the awards on LAist starting at 5pm with nuggets from myself in the press room. Later on the the evening we will be at the HBO after-party at the Pacific Design Center so follow my twitter feed for updates from there. HBO is expected to walk away with a couple dozen awards by the end of the Emmys so we expect spirits to be high. Tomorrow we will have a wrap up of the day with our own high-quality photos and video.
TV Junkie: Emmys Coverage Today
Alice Cooper is Godhead!
Last night Alice Cooper drove the Nokia crowd into a hysterical heavy metal sing-along on his Theatre of Death tour. It is just impossible not to sing along with "I'm Eighteen". But besides his musical ouvre, there are a few things that set Alice Cooper apart and give him such a rabid following.
First and foremost, Alice is a showman. I mean besides being a singer. He gets decapitated, dragged all over the stage and abused by psycho Nurse Rosetta, impaled by a 6-foot long hypodermic, and hanged (a stunt that proved nearly fatal in England in the 80s).

TV Junkie: Red Carpet Interviews at the 2009 Primetime Emmys
The TV Junkie survived the 100+ F temps of the downtown concrete furnace to bring you these video interviews with actors, producers, writers, comedians and reality show performers. We've divided up our footage into comedy, drama, and reality television segments.
What Not to Bring to the Emmys: An Air Rifle
A worker entering the media and other-attendee entrance at the Emmy Awards was stopped and briefly detained at a police checkpoint when an officer noticed a rifle in the trunk. The episode prompted traffic to be stopped at various checkpoints around the Nokia Theatre in downtown.
