This past weekend, Pasadena was not only host to the Annual Chalk Festival, but the 3rd annual Make Music Pasadena (see LAist's coverage of the inaugural edition). When I think of how new bands come up with tracks to sample, I think of classics like the Gang of Four (apparently so does the Rapture).
