A job listing popped on Craigslist yesterday that might be music to the right web and graphics dork's ears. It seems Nine Inch Nails is on the prowl for "an internet-savvy web and graphics assistant who will work with an art director on a wide variety of tasks relating to web development, graphic design, video editing/production, and online marketing." The basic blabbity-blah-blah expected know-hows follows (CSS, HTML, Flash, Javascript, et. al) along with design chops......

Trent Reznor is a free man. In the year since he officially released his last album -- Year Zero -- under contract to Interscope Records, Reznor, 42, developed an Alternate Reality Game built around Year Zero and released a Year Zero remix CD which included a data disc with raw WAV files meant to encourage mass manipulation. He also produced and performed on Saul Williams' excellent free-or-$5 downloadable. Ghosts I-IV is Nine Inch Nails' seventh......

The country's safest city (some years, anyway), is getting less and less so: a shooting this morning at a Simi Valley tire store left two dead and two injured. He has fulfilled his contractual agreements with Interscope and will see if he can avoid the middleman and allow his audience to deal with him in a more intimate arrangement, he said on nin.com. Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make......

NIN's September 30th (Oakland) concert will be postponed and a replacement drummer will be used for the rest of the tour. We already knew there was a corporate heart beating behind the 21 JACK FM stations. Meet the voice behind the......

The Mighty Mos Def and Talib Kweli closed the main stage (to a much smaller crowd than Nine Inch Nails which, we think, had to do with Goldenvoice not naming Mos and Talib in the adverts or the program) with an......

Every year, we say we're not going to battle the heat and the crowds and the traffic on the 10 to spend a weekend at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio; and, every year, Coachella puts together a list of acts that we'd kick ourselves if we missed. This year, we'd made a deal with ourselves. We'll only go for one day. We'll drive up and arrive around three or four, catch the cool......

We're having a debate with ourselves this morning. Do we lede with the most important global story or the King of Pop? Since local news seems obsessed with celebrity justice, we'll pretend like we have loftier standards and run with the first Iraqi Democratic Election. Both The Daily News and The Daily Bruin run stories of local expatriate Iraqi voters. The Bruin covers a poli sci student who has never been to his home......
