Mariah Carey Names Son After a Room, Daughter After a Dead Actress
Pop star Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon welcomed a baby boy and a baby girl in L.A. on April 30th, but have just now revealed the names they have chosen for their offspring. Drawing inspiration from, well, what gives them inspiration, the couple have named their son Moroccan Scott and their daughter Monroe, says ABC7. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated anniversary number three by delivering two babies today in LA. A representative for Carey confirmed the births to the Associated Press, notes Yahoo! Music, saying, "The singing superstar gave birth Saturday at 12:07 p.m. EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles."
L.A. County Tops U.S. Hunger Study
Los Angeles County leads the nation with 1.7 million people struggling to afford to stay properly fed, according to the Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap study. While 50 million people nationwide struggle to put food on the table, L.A. is highest in food insecurity, according to the study, which is based on 2009 statistics collected by government agencies.
