Kings Have No Answers Against Oilers

Kings Have No Answers Against Oilers

The Kings claim they want to be an elite NHL team. You could have fooled me after watching their 3-0 loss to the upstart Edmonton Oilers. “In the second period they pretty much dominated every aspect of the game,” captain Dustin Brown said dejectedly in front of his locker. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Prince Averts Disaster for UCLA

LAst Night's Action: Prince Averts Disaster for UCLA

UCLA Bruins defeat Washington State Cougars 28-25. Call it a failure of Washington State’s offense to complete drives. Call it UCLA’s defense playing big when it counted. Call it a complete rebirth of quarterback Kevin Prince. But UCLA gets back to the .500 mark overall and 2-1 in the Pac-12 eking out a victory over the Cougars. more ›

LAst Night's Action: THE NHL IS BACK!!!

The two Richards were the biggest offseason headlines: Mike Richards shockingly traded by the Philadelphia Flyers to the Kings, and the biggest free agent center Brad Richards after being wooed eventually settling with the Rangers. Tinsel Town vs. Broadway. So it was completely appropriate it was the two Richards that stood in the faceoff circle to start the game. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Kings Tie Franchise Points Mark in Shootout Loss in NY

LAst Night's Action: Kings Tie Franchise Points Mark in Shootout Loss in NY

It wasn't a win, but it did give the Kings a point to tie a franchise record. After a goal by Arten Anisimov with 3:08 left in the gave to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead, it looked like the Kings wouldn't be able to tie their 1974 mark of getting a point in 11 consecutive games. But the Kings finally did what teams had done to them all season long - come right back and score. Just 47 seconds later, Dustin Brown from behind the goal line stuffed the puck in the net past goalie Henrik Lundqvist. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Kings Blow Out Wild

LAst Night's Action: Kings Blow Out Wild

LA Kings defeat Minnesota Wild 5-2. Not only did the Kings have the lead going into the third period, they held the Wild scoreless in that period. The Kings penalty kill was suspect giving the Wild's two scores on four power play opportunities. But overall the Kings limited the Wild's shots holding them to 14 after two periods. And having been outscored 15-4 on their recent losing streak, it was a good sign when the Kings came out to score first on a Kyle Calder wrist shot. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Skirt by Knickerbockers

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Skirt by Knickerbockers

LA Lakers defeat New York Knicks 116-114. The Lakers are a very infuriating team. They had moments of great defensive stops which led me to believe they play defense only when they want to. They also missed a lot of shots right under their basket by being tentative and trying to lay it in rather than dunking authoritatively. This against a team that has no big man! Even though the Lakers are now 21-3, why does it seem so unfulfilling? more ›
