St. Louis Blues defeat LA Kings 6-4. The game didn’t go to a shootout, but it certainly was a shootout at the Scottrade Center in the Gateway to the West. The Blues offensively was on their game in the first two periods outshooting the Kings 24-17, yet it was tied 4-4.
The Kings remarkably scored twice on the power-play in six chances, however both came due to a five-on-three situation: the first goal by Ryan Smyth at 16:59 in the first period while officially on a five-on-four situation came just as Dave Scatchard came out of the penalty box. San Antonio Spurs defeat LA Clippers 107-95. It’s a hard lot the Clippers drew having to play back-to-back games on the road against the New Orleans Hornets and San Antonio Spurs. Combine that with point guard Baron Davis once again not dressed because of his left knee despite playing ten minutes in Tuesday night’s game, things are tough sledding in the early going for the Clips.

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Cruise While Ducks Scrape to Victories
LA Lakers defeat Minnesota Timberwolves 104-96. Against the team that lost to the Phoenix Suns 152-114 Tuesday night, the Lakers just cruised throughout the game content to let them hang around. They even let the Wolves take a lead in the third quarter. But in the end the Lakers were just too much. Kobe Bryant ended up with a season high 13 assists, seven in the first quarter, along with 22 points. Pau Gasol also had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. However the injury bug is creeping back in with Andrew Bynum leaving the game with a strained Achilles tendon early in the third quarter. Head coach Phil Jackson also mentioned after the game that Lamar Odom injured his shoulder during his 18 point effort.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Youth Pound Sick Clippers
LA Lakers defeat LA Clippers 108-97. Andrew Bynum had a career game against the Clippers scoring 42 points with 15 rebounds. 42 points! That's the most points in a game that any Laker has scored this season. But let's not forget about Kobe Bryant who had a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. It seemed like his gnarled shooting hand gave him few problems. The Clippers though showed moxie led by Deandre Jordan's 23 points. If he can keep it up the Clippers will be fantastic over the long haul.

Clippers 95, Hawks 88 - The Clips got an unexpected performance from rookie Al Thornton, who exploded for a career high 33 points the day after a major stomach virus. Los Angeles fielded their 20th different starting lineup of the year, and are currently missing Chris Kaman and Corey Maggette. Next up, a seven game road trip. That's not so bad -- the Lakers have a 9 game trip lined up.
