Celtics 104, Clippers 76 - The NBA's top team won last night in the Staples Center, and it wasn't the Lakers. Boston, now an NBA-best 43-12, was just too much for the Clippers. Chris Kaman sat out once again, dropping LA's record to 1-6 without the big man in their lineup. Sam Cassell was also injured and watched from the bench. Kevin Garnett, one of five Celtics to hit double digits, was recently named by......

On a mid-summer night every year for two decades, some of the biggest names in basketball and Hollywood were summoned to the hardwood by Magic Johnson and a good cause. Last year, Magic stepped down and handed over the torch to Baron Davis and Paul Pierce, two NBA All-Stars and native Angelenos. Sunday night at USC's Galen Center, the Davis/Pierce administration carried on the tradition of sloppy yet utterly entertaining basketball for charity for the......

Last night was the NBA All-Star Game, and if there was an all-star team of NBA national anthem singers, the coach would be Maurice Cheeks, who saved the ass of Natalie Gilbert in this clip that still brings a little mist to our eyes. On this President's Day, feel free to sing along to the "Star Spangled Banner". Why not?......

The NBA All-Star Weekend is happening 5 hours east of us in Las Vegas. Tonight they will hold the big game (on TNT). Although the game is never all that exciting, the Skills Competition, the 3-point Contest, and the Dunk Contest are always worth watching. This year the Dunk Contest was actually really good, with little Nate Robinson skying and Dwight Howard putting a sticker of himself on the top of the backboard as......

Ducks 3, Kings 2, SO - With both local teams struggling lately, Los Angeles and Anaheim opened a weekend home-and-home series at Staples Center. The Kings tied it up with about five minutes to play, and neither team could score in overtime. The Ducks, with one of the best records in hockey, skated away with a shootout win over the Kings, with one of the worst. The scrappy rivalry featured 56 penalty minutes issued in......

Every morning at 6am we will be posting a video of someone singing or playing the "Star Spangled Banner". Back in the day television stations would end their "broadcast day" with an instrumental of the National Anthem accompanied by video of classic cars being policed, and olde fashioned barber shop, the Liberty Bell, and buffaloes running in slow motion. When the song was over, the screen would flicker and a test pattern would appear,......
