New Zealand-bred electro pop singer-songwriter Ladyhawke is poised to grace the Avalon with Seattle's own electro pop sensation Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. Local afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold will be performing in-store at Amoeba Music in Hollywood. And, lastly, celebrated indie rock singer-songwriter David Bazan, who spent most of his formative years performing under the moniker Pedro the Lion, will be taking on the Troubadour.

Tonight Anaheim-based ska-infused pop outfit No Doubt will be headlining the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater with Santa Barbara-bred pop singer-songwriter Katy Perry and Swedish new wave rockers the Sounds in tow. British indie pop duo the Ting Tings (LAist Review) will be performing at Club Nokia with Seattle-based electro pop outfit Natalie Portman's Shaved Head (LAist Review). And, lastly, Swedish chanteuse Lykke Li (LAist Review, #2, #3) is poised to grace the Wiltern with local indie rockers the Deadly Syndrome (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4) in tow. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Raleigh-based nu-folk trio Bowerbirds. Raleigh-via-Eau Clair trio Megafaun are slated to kick things off.

Tonight Calabasas-bred rock outfit Incubus will be headlining the Hollywood Bowl with rockers the Duke Spirit in tow. Long Beach/Los Alamitos natives Avi Buffalo (LAist Interview, Review) are poised to take on the Silver Lake Lounge. Costa Mesa-based rockers Japanese Motors will be headlining the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch Seattle's own electro pop sensation Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. LAist favorites, Chicagoist-approved electro rock trio Hey Champ are slated to kick things off.

       

The Echoplex was hit by a tidal wave of audio marshmallow fluff last Thursday. By the time I arrived, the air was sticky with it. Natalie Portman's Shaved Head was on stage. You want a band that can provoke a reaction just by naming things, it's this one. I mean their album is called Glistening Pleasure for God's sake. Who wouldn't want to own Glistening Pleasure?

LA local Murs (LAist Interview) is poised to flow at the El Rey Theatre. Singer-songwriter Miranda Lee Richards will be gracing the stage at the Hotel Café. The Watkins Family (LAist Review) is slated to put on a special Christmas edition of their Family Hour at Largo at the Coronet. And, lastly, the gruff indie rock outfit known as Low vs Diamond (LAist Review) will be letting loose at the Troubadour with their Seattle friends Barcelona. But considering the "drastic" change in climate and the nature of the season, we strongly suggest heading over to Pershing Square for Spaceland On Ice. What better way to ring in the winter than with LA's own bluesy rock duo Rumspringa (LAist Review), who will be performing for free!
