Word on the wet streets says Blue Palms Brewhouse is re-opening today alongside the born-again Music Box, now dubbed The Fonda Theatre. Blue Palms experienced "a very difficult time trying to keep Blue Palms open following the eviction of the operators of the Music Box Theater" in January, says the website, but according to the watering hole's Facebook page, they'll be serving up eats and tapping craft beers again just in time for St. Paddy's Day.

Blue Palms Brew House Announces It Will Close Its Doors Next Week Because of Music Box Eviction
Blue Palms Brew House announced that it will be closing its doors next week—at least temporarily—when the operators of the Music Box at the Henry Fonda are evicted.
The tenure of the bar and restaurant housed inside the Music Box was thrown into jeopardy, because it sub-leases its space through the music venue, which shut down earlier this month.

It seems this might be one of those tales of mysterious things that happen in the night: The Music Box theatre at The Henry Fonda appears to have cleared out and shut down out of nowhere.
Morrissey Fans Occupy Hollywood Blvd. For Tickets to Rare, Last Minute Concert
Monday afternoon, local devotees of melancholic British alt-rock icon Morrissey learned their mighty Moz was adding a last minute, intimate Ticketmasterless concert Wednesday night at the Henry Fonda/Music Box Theatre. With strict rules regarding ticketing--cash only, 2-per-person limit, at venue box office only--fans lined the street outside the Fonda as the noon on-sale time approached.
Black Lips, Cerebral Ballzy @ The Music Box 06/24/11
The "Bad Kids" of the Black Lips were back in LA last Friday night in support of their Mark Ronson-produced full-length, Arabia Mountain. After a particularly rousing set by Brooklyn-based hardcore punk outfit Cerebral Ballzy (not since shooting GWAR have we had to protect our camera and selves from stage shenanigans, but within the first three songs we'd been covered by projectile beer splatter twice), the Lips took the stage and showed there ain't no shame in a straight-forward rock show.
Let's Party Like It's 1899*! Edwardian Ball Returning to LA
This Saturday night The Edwardian Ball returns to Los Angeles at the Music Box (Fonda). This will be the second Edwardian Ball in LA (the previous one was in January 2009) but the event has become an annual tradition in San Francisco, where they recently held their 11th consecutive ball.

Interview: Joshua Radin Switches Up His Sound on 'The Rock and the Tide'
Joshua Radin's music has a way of arresting one's attention, which is probably why his songs have been used in more than 75 television programs and films over the last six years. But it's his full albums that offer the biggest payoff—they definitely live up to the promise of an initial taste. Radin's third full-length album, "The Rock and the Tide," showcases him at his most ambitious and playful, and proves he's just as adept at straight-up rock as he is at "whisper rock."
Stuff Your Face for Charity at Cupcake Camp L.A.
Saturday afternoon more than 50 professional and amateur bakers will present their dainty delectables at Los Angeles' first-ever Cupcake Camp.
FYF Fest w/ Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Washed Out, Man Man, School of Seven Bells, DeLorean, and The Rapture, 9/4/10
There's no question that FYF Fest promoter Sean Carlson can assemble a musical lineup that arguably rivals or even surpasses many of the longstanding festivals, including the Sunset Junction Street Festival. But will this year's problems be resolved next year?
Mumford & Sons, The Middle East @ The Music Box 06/03/10
It was a night of new beginnings at the Music Box (formerly the Henry Fonda Theater) on Thursday night. The revamped theater sparkled with all the seduction of a private night club. The walls newly painted with woodland creatures and nymphs and the foyer draped with golden lamps. What better place for two fresh new bands who are both riding those fickle waves of critical success to play? Both The Middle East and Mumford & Sons are enveloped in that golden halo of achievement that only comes when your first release is received well. It's before (heaven forbid) your sophomore disk slumps and the drugs problems become too much and the inner band fighting destroys everything. But there's this amazing moment when bands get it right and it seems like nothing could possibly stand in their way. hat is what Thursday night was all about, and it was gorgeous.
The Residents @ Henry Fonda Music Box 01/30/10
“Hi folks, I’m Randy - the lead singer of the Residents! Over here is Chuck, and that’s Bob over there on the guitar.”
Well what do you know? The world’s most famous anonymous musicians have just outed themselves on stage at the Music Box
kind of...
Doctor's Orders: No NIN Show at the Fonda Tonight
Trent Reznor has fallen ill, forcing Nine Inch Nails' Wave Goodbye tour to be put on hold. Reznor said he had a cold during last night's concert at the Palladium, which included an appearance by Gary Numan joining NIN on Numan's "Cars." Soon after the show ended the band released the following message on its website:
Tonight In Rock: The B-52's, Minus The Bear, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Charlie Wadhams
We haven't seen a Sunday like this since the summertime. We've got Athens-based new wave rock band the B-52's performing at Club Nokia in Downtown. Seattle's own experimental rockers Minus the Bear will be coming through the Henry Fonda Music Box with our favorite Raleigh-based indie pop group, the Annuals. LA locals Tigers Can Bite You are slated to rock at the Alterknit Lounge at the Knitting Factory. And, lastly, singer-songwriter Charlie Wadhams will be continuing his month-long Sunday Night Residency at Tangier. Word on the street is that Tangier will be closing its doors soon due to financial woes. But how could anyone turn down the Part Time Punks Festival at the Echo and Echoplex compound? Not only will some of LA's prominent fringe acts be playing (The Muslims, Mika Miko, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti), but living legends like Manchester's A Certain Ratio will be headlining the predominantly punk-tinged extravaganza. It will be the band's first performance in the US since 1985—the year I was born.
LAist Interview: David Berman, Silver Jews
Silver Jews is coming to town. On just the second tour of a 20-year career, DC Berman and his familial touring band will visit LA tonight behind its sixth recording, Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea.
X to Rock the Fonda Tonight, Tomorrow
If you live in Los Angeles or know anything about punk rock circa 1977 then you know about X. If you don't, Perry Farrell will tell you in the clip on the right. Farrell introduced X last month at SXSW, headliners of Spin's day party at Stubb's BBQ. The place was only two-thirds full after a mass exodus of sweater vests following a short set by Vampire Weekend. But all four original members of X -- now touring in celebration of their 31-year anniversary -- proved once and for all that punk's not dead (or at least that rock and roll is alive and kicking).
Pencil This In: Tuesday
Rain rain has gone away...so Tuesday we'll go out to play. Here's what's going on around town tonight:
LAist Interview: Debbie Harry
Listen to the interview here: Deborah Harry is on her way to LA to play the Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theater tomorrow, Friday the 7th. She's got her first new solo album in fourteen years out, Necessary Evil, and you can hear some samples of it at her MySpace. Unfortunately our conversation sounds like I'm contacting her by sat-phone somewhere in Tibet but these are the days of multiline patch-ins so it couldn't...
Tonight in Rock in LA: Voxtrot, VHS or BETA, Cake
"Steven" - Voxtrot
Art Brut / Hold Steady Moved From Wiltern to Fonda
Two really good bands (that taste great together) have announced today that they are heading East.
Tonight in Rock in LA - The Rentals, Air, Cat Power, Muse
How the two best shows happening tonight are still not sold out is beyond me. If you dont wanna be outside listening to the pretty music coming from the pretty boys of Air you really should check out the Rentals at the Music Box. Word is there will be some special guests. The Rentals, Goldenboy, Copeland @ The Henry Fonda Air @ The Greek Cat Power @ Avalon Muse @ Irvine Meadows B-52's @...
Get the new Foo Fighters cd, See them Live for Free
First let's begin by saying that there is nothing more evil and vile and disgusting than Ticketmaster and their ability to run a monopoly over all these years and it pains us to link to their wretched site as it would be very similar to linking to the devil himself, Dick Cheney.
Mudhoney, The Melvins @ The Music Box, 9/16/07
I am loving this ATP-inspired idea of playing entire albums from beginning to end. Tonight we hit the Music Box to see The Melvins play Houdini and Mudhoney play Superfuzz Big Muff plus Early Singles. Sadly, we missed Flipper. We were late because I fell down the back steps as we rushed out the door. Bob wanted me to stay home and ice my foot, but no way was I missing this gig! We...
Be the Next New Pornographer and Win
A.C. Newman and Blaine Thurier of Vancouver's finest supergroup, The New Pornographers, have issued a challenge: Translation: Make a better video than the band can, put it on YouTube, and win an iPhone... or something. (We're wondering if that "something" might include signed Neko Case undergarments, as recent history reminds us that even her used corset is worth as much as an iPhone. The New Pornographers admit that they're not OK Go when it comes...
