Iconic "History of Highland Park" Mural Restoration Begins
The highly anticipated restoration of the "History of Highland Park" mural began on Saturday as over 100 volunteers devoted their time to start the clean up process on the much-loved but recently much-maligned neighborhood artwork.
Using biodegradable soap, elbow grease and a healthy dose of neighborhood pride, community members helped kick-off the vision of years of work by the Highland Park Heritage Trust, the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council and Councilmember José Huizar.

94-year-old Mid-City artist Erma Winfield has finally completed a 40-foot mural that depicts the many "seasons" of her life. It took eight months of daily work, $150 worth of exterior house paint, some good-natured ribbing from friends and willing neighbors, but the mural is now a welcome addition to Spalding Avenue, according to the LA Times.

Cache Caught Spraying New Chickens, Will Finish Mural Today
Graffiti writer Cache, known for his illustrated chickens, was caught in the act of finishing up his latest work on Sunset Boulevard Sunday night, according to the Echo Park Patch.
Cache and two other painters worked away at ground level and on ladders as onlookers gathered to watch the chicken scene unfolded across a gray wall. There's also a fat cat in the artful mix...a nod to the cat tagger?
