Keith Olbermann is Headed to Current TV

When Keith Olbermann stunned viewers with the news he was done with his popular program "Countdown" and with MSNBC, many speculated that it would not be long before the news biz's left-leaning bad boy announced his next industry move. That announcement came today, with word that Olbermann is headed to the small cable network CurrentTV, where he "will host a one-hour, nightly primetime show" starting later in the spring, and will serve as the network's "chief news officer." more ›

Olbermann Departs 'Countdown' With Little Explanation

Broadcaster and MSNBC poster/bad boy Keith Olbermann ended his popular Countdown show last night with a surprise announcement: It was the end of the show, and the end of his tenure at the network. "The departure was a stealth move, MSNBC insiders told POLITICO, with many top executives and on-air personalities kept out of the loop as the decision was made." In fact, a half hour after "Countdown" ended last night, Olbermann's image still appeared in a station promo spot. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Andre the Giant Edition

LAst Night's Action: Andre the Giant Edition

LA Dodgers defeat San Diego Padres 6-2. Andre Ethier keeps on feasting on those fastballs. In the eighth inning with the Dodgers down 2-1 and Russell Martin on second, Ethier drove a ball out to left field for a game-tying triple. Then with the bases loaded in the ninth inning and the Dodgers leading 3-2, he hit a bases-clearing double that was barely fair down the right field line to give the Dodgers a 6-2 lead. Dodger's starter Hiroki Kuroda was shaky in this outing but managed to give up only two runs on nine hits and two intentional walks. Ethier helped Kuroda's cause by throwing Adrian Gonzalez out at the plate on a Chase Headley RBI double in the third inning. What doesn't Ethier do? With the Diamondbacks losing the Dodger's magic number is down to 16. more ›

Ron Paul Wins Michigan Debate

According to an MSNBC online poll participated by over 16,000 people, Texas Congressman Ron Paul won the GOP Michigan debate in a landslide. Sister-station, CNBC, who hosted the debate also had an online poll but they, like Pajamas Media, took it down when they saw that the most conservative congressman in office was winning by such a wide margin. When asked who they thought was standing out from the pack, Paul, who favors the... more ›

MSNBC Anchor Literally Choked Up by Saddam's Death

It has to be an embarrassing moment for the female anchor, and is probably perfect year-end gag reel fodder for MSNBC weekend anchor JJ Ramberg, who is filling in during this holiday weekend. We all get emotional whenever something or someone dies. Usually it doesn't happen on national tv. Fortunately most of the country tunes out of MSNBC when Keith Olbermann is on vacation.... more ›

The Death of Habeas Corpus, The Beginning of the End of America

There are four ways to look at the Military Commisions Act that was signed into law Tuesday: 1) Oh Fuck. 2) Surely this will wake up what few logical Republicans are left in that party who will turn their backs on this tyrannical group and do something other than re-elect these un-American power whores. 3) This is all a terrible nightmare. 4) Looks like I've got to run for President in 2008 with one... more ›

Is George Bush an Idiot?

You know you might be a dumbass if you've got conservatives getting on TV asking if you're a dumbass. This week former US Rep Joe Scarborough (R, FL) had a ten-minute segment in which they tried to figure out if President Bush is stupid or just talks like a dummy. Like any fair show they had one guy on there to say he wasn't an idiot, but that guy had a very tough time... more ›
