Despite protest, last night ABC aired an episode of the award-winning comedy "Modern Family" that included toddler Lily dropping the F-Bomb. As promised, the precious moment was bleeped, the girl's mouth pixilated, and the actress only charged with uttering "fudge."
"Modern Family" Toddler's F-Bomb: A Big Effing Deal or Not?

TV Junkie: Want more Cake? Also: Costume Designers Guild Awards Winners

TV Junkie: 'Undercovers' Premieres, 'Modern Family' Returns, 'Terriers' are in your face - Tonight!
We're very excited about the return of "Modern Family" (8pm on ABC) with their Emmys for comedy writing and for Eric Stonestreet, although they should have received more. For nostalgia's sake we're tuning into "Cougar Town" for Jennifer Anniston's appearance on Courteney Cox's show at 9:30pm.

TV Junkie: Versus #epicfail; 'Modern Family' Season Finale Tonight
Yesterday we expressed our frustration with Versus' complete lack of content in Monday's broadcast of the Amgen Tour of California - we had deluded ourselves that things couldn't get any worse. Tuesday's broadcast of stage 3 from San Francisco to Santa Cruz started out great, beautiful footage of familiar roads and climbs, albeit without an attempt at an explanation for why no footage from stage 2 could be broadcast on Monday.
TV Junkie at the 69th Annual Peabody Awards
We went to the 69th Annual Peabody Awards held at the historic Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York yesterday to see 36 recipients pick up the awards that they were chosen for in 2009. The Peabodys are interesting as they narrow the recipients down to any number of winners from over 1000 submissions - see the complete list of recipients here. The recipients can be in virtually any medium, from the web to film, but we focused on interviewing recipients who had a direct connection with television and were happy to have connected with:
TV Junkie: 'Lost' Auction; Daytime Emmy Noms
"Lost" fans/self-abusers should be psyched about the auction of 10 pages of props, costumes, and set pieces from the show. A date hasn't been set for the auction yet, other than it will be during "the summer".
TV Junkie: New 'FlashForward' and 'Fringe' Tonight
Comedy Central had another great hour of animation last night, who caught the ridiculously funny and accurate Facebook-Tron episode of "South Park"? "Ugly Americans" also delivered excellent weirdness, explaining in further detail more reasons why New Jersey is such a bizarre place.
TV Junkie: KCET Wins Peabody; 'Ultimate Gamer' Casting Call
The TV Junkie Plan: @aots, "Web Soup", "Modern Family", "Cougar Town" (we're going to give Sheryl Crow another chance to help this show), "South Park", "Ugly Americans", "Chelsea Lately", Letterman (Ricky Gervais), Fallon (Tyler Perry)
TV Junkie: ABC's 'Modern Family' A Hit; Who's Ready for Another Round of 'Lost'?
We ran into Sam Lloyd (whom we interviewed last year) at the Griffith Park train line where he gave us an update on what's going on with him and "Ted the Lawyer's Band" from "Scrubs", aka The Blanks. Unfortunately you won't be seeing Sam or The Blanks on ABC's "Scrubs" anytime soon but The Blanks are on tour and will be back in LA soon enough. They play in Boston this Friday so tell your friends out there - more info on The Blanks available at their website.
TV Junkie: The Anti-Choice Bowl; New 'Modern Family' Tonight; Grammys Win Last Week
Sunday's Super Bowl looms in the minds of many who are already planning how many beer and snack runs they will have to make between now and gametime to be adequately provisioned. Also looming is the broadcast of the "Focus on the Family" anti-abortion ad during the game, featuring Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother. Huffington Post reveals that, while Focus on the Family had to lay off almost 300 people, they somehow managed to come up with the $2.5+ million to run the anti-abortion ad (not including production costs). On the flip side, CBS won't take any amount of money to run progressive pro-choice ads or gay-rights advocacy.
The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Video Interviews
After our interviews with Scott Bakula, Lauren Velez, and the incredible Betty White last week, we made our way to the Shrine Auditorium early Saturday afternoon to see the which group of actors, nominated by their peers, would receive the honor of winning a Screen Actors Guild award.
TV Junkie: A 'Cougar Town' Makeover Please
Tell us, have you watched "Cougar Town"? We've really tried to give this show a chance but the stilted dialogue and hollow stereotypes are starting to get to us: the whole "cougar" premise already seems tired and trite; the cast seems to be waiting for each line of dialogue to be stiffly delivered; and when is the increasingly frozen-faced Christa Miller going to be fed up with being cast as an insufferable harpy?
TV Junkie: Frasier Resurrected? Madonna On Letterman
We'll tell you who's back on TV tonight: Madonna on Letterman. Yeah, there's other stuff happening on late night TV but nothing will hold a candle to the anticipation of more antics between Madonna and Letterman.
TV Junkie: 'Modern Family' & 'Cougar Town' Premiere on ABC
Featured Series Premieres for Tonight:
Modern Family (9pm on ABC): Of all the shows premiering tonight, this one seems to have legs. Yes, comedy kingpin Ed O'Neil provides an experienced cornerstone for the series but we're happy to see Julie Bowen, whom we know from "Weeds" and "Lost", given a venue we think she deserves. The promos are hilarious and the folks whom we know received screeners say the show can back them up.
