Reno 911!: Miami may have only been a marginal hit (and a critical dud), but I had a great time with it (being drunk at the time). It really took the freedom of an R rating to liberate the show from its PG-13 Comedy Central roots. For those of you who missed it at the theater, be sure to pick up the "unrated" edition for even more hot, naked action. Speaking of hot, naked action, Bridge to Terabithia doesn't have any. It is, however, a movie that should please kids and adults alike. After all, it pleased me and I'm a very child-like adult. more ›

A Word or 24(!): Don't forget Jake Gyllenhaal hosting "SNL" on Saturday, and then on Sunday the season premieres of "24" (Fox, 8:00 p.m.) and "Rome" (HBO, 9:00 p.m.). Tonight - Friday - January 12, 2007 "The Killers" (TCM, 7:15 p.m.) Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner star in this '46 noir classic. Magic @ Lakers (Fox Sports, 7:30 p.m.) "Ghost Whisperer" (CBS, 8:00 p.m.) What more can be said about an episode entitled "Deja... more ›

Stomp the Yard - I'm a sucker for movies that end in dance-offs. DJ, a troubled street-dancer from Los Angeles, avoids jail by enrolling in a black college in Atlanta where two rival fraternities both want a piece of his talent, so they can win a national step show competition. Meagan Good (Brick, D.E.B.S.) plays his love interest. more ›

A Word or 42: There's nothing funnier than watching pundits try to fill in the 7 minutes after a Presidential speech ends and before regular programming resumes. Great delivery on the speech though, it reminded me of the animatronic Lincoln I saw at Disneyland in 1977. Tonight - Thursday - January 11th, 2007 "Smallville" (the CW, 8:00 p.m.) Tori Spelling guests "My Name Is Ed"/"The Office"/"Scrubs"/"30 Rock"/"ER" (NBC, 8-11:00 p.m.) ALL NEW "Ugly Betty"... more ›
