In New Orleans the nation watched as the Saints performed an offensive clinic in the second half dispatching the Detroit Lions 45-28 in the wild card round of the NFL Playoffs. That offensive mojo obviously did not visit the STAPLES Center today with the Kings losing in regulation for the first time in the Darryl Sutter era 1-0 to the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets and the Clippers edged the Milwaukee Bucks 92-86.

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Outshoot Bucks
LA Lakers defeat Milwaukee Bucks 118-107. Defense? The Lakers showed they weren’t all that interested in defense making it look like they would need another last-second Kobe Bryant jumper in overtime to beat the Bucks at the Bradley Center as was the case on Dec. 16, 2009.
LAst Night's Action: Kings No Prey for Predators
LA Kings defeat Nashville Predators 2-0. This was a game where the unheralded players became the unsung heroes. Going into the game the Kings had not beaten the Predators since March 13, 2008 in Nashville and after their recent four-game losing streak it didn’t look optimistic. LAst Night's Action: Kobe Does It Again Against Bucks
LA Lakers defeat Milwaukee Bucks 107-106 (OT). On the second game of a back-to-back on the road, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol came up big for the Lakers. Gasol had his first 20-point, 20-rebound game of his career with 26 points and 22 boards. Kobe meanwhile came up big at the end of the overtime period. With under a minute in overtime trailing by four, Kobe dribbled down the lane and looked to have charged Ersan Ilyasova.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Scratch out a Win
LA Lakers defeat Milwaukee Bucks 104-98. The Lakers played another awful half of basketball but came back with effort in the second half to close out their seven game road trip with a win. They got stops on defense in the fourth quarter, but the Bucks made a late burst to come within three points with less than a minute remaining. Kobe Bryant scored 30 points while Pau Gasol had 15 points and Lamar Odom had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Lakers have seven games remaining with road games at Sacramento and Portland - both teams they have troubles with on the road.
Bye, Bye, Bobby
While we're sure Clippers fans are groaning, Donald Sterling, Mike Dunleavy, and Elgin Baylor have made the right decisiion here. Sterling's frugality has been the Clippers biggest problem over the years, but sometimes it actually helps.
