Mega Blogger Mickey Kaus Running for U.S. Senate
Slate's Micky Kaus has been the Democrat underdog challenging Senator Barbara Boxer in the upcoming June 8th primary. The Venice-based writer hasn't garnered much media attention, but today's news could: he's set up a debate between himself and Boxer at 2 p.m. today, according to LA Weekly. "We know Senator Boxer will be in San Francisco then, because she's having a $35,000-a-couple fundraiser a few blocks away that evening," Kaus said. The Weekly has offered crickets for the event.

Mickey Kaus Defends Ann Coulter... Again (it is a full-time gig)
On his own turf over at Slate, Mickey Kaus does a fair job of laying his jacket out for Ann Coulter as she steps through all the mud she loves to sling. Hopefully you read on Tuesday how he turned the tables on her critics by suggesting that Daily Kos helmsman Markos Moulitsas wrote far more offensive comments about dead soldiers than anything that Ms. Coulter is currently being lionized for, namely denouncing 9/11 widows by saying they're enjoying their husband's deaths.

LA Observed pointed us towards LA Cowboy yesterday who wrote about Good Morning America's playing of a supposed Al Qaeda threat against Melbourne, Australia and Los Angeles.
