Supposedly NBC is beating the ratings battle with this week's broadcast of the DNCC in Denver. We've listed PBS below because when you've got a commercial-free option, go for it. True we're not listing C-SPAN, but even we have standards. Despite posting a second quarter of profitability, Tivo's stock got pummeled yesterday because their profit did not meet analyst predictions. Despite competition from cable networks, the Tivo interface seems to be the best, so it......

Get ready for a crapload of Bogusky ads for Microsoft featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates. Microsoft is spending about $300 million on the campaign, dwarfing Apple's Mac Guy / PC Guy ad spend. Seinfeld is a fantastic stand-up man and comedic actor (despite the godawful "B-Movie") but something about his attitude and lifestyle tell us that he's motivated more by the $10 million he's getting than by the much disparaged Vista operating system. 8:00pm......

Variety reports that last night Fox dominated the ratings with "So You Think You Can Dance". It's not that this is an achievement for Fox, considering what a copycat and sub-par program "So You Think You Can Dance" is - just look at what it's up against: "Baby Borrowers" and reruns. A halfway decent idea on several nights of the week would trounce the dreck that is dished up on network TV. TV is losing......

The Emmy nominations are out today and finally it seems like they're getting on the right track with nominations for AMC's "Mad Men", FX's "Damages", and Showtime's "Dexter". In comedy NBC is duking it out with itself between "30 Rock" and "The Office". If any of those previously-mentioned shows wins this will be a good year for the Emmys. In particular the AMC and FX nominations are groundbreaking for basic cable to receive such critical......

First things first: Michael Ian Black released his CD, I'm A Wonderful Man, on September 25th and it's very very funny, check it out HERE. If there's a comedy album to get this year, I'm A Wonderful Man is the one. Secondly, Michael Ian Black has relaunched his website and blog after putting it on hiatus for a while, check it out HERE. And most importantly, Michael Ian Black is on tour and coming to......

Seinfeld may have been about nothing, but “Stella,” a new show that premiered last night on Comedy Central, is about the absurd. Think about the two guys waiting on a bench for Godot, add a third, mix in some head-scratching humor, and voila, you have “Stella.” Now we don’t want to draw too many comparisons between the high concept of Beckett’s play and the low-brow humor of this television show, but it’s one of......
