Metro late this afternoon warned that several buses will be impacted by the Lakers Championship game and that the Blue Line between downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach could shut down if conditions warrant it. Pedestrian Struck & Killed on Blue Line

This morning at around 10, a man on the tracks of the Metro Blue Line at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and East Vernon Street was struck and killed by a train, according to abc7. "Emergency officials said it is unclear why the man was on the tracks, and have not ruled out the possibility of suicide." The man was declared dead on scene. There were no injuries reported aboard the train, but the "train operator was visibly distraught following the collision," according to fire officials responding to the accident call. The LA County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident. more ›

The Los Angles Fire Department is reporting a collision between a Metro Blue Line train and a vehicle. The crash, located near 1524 S Flower Street, was reported at 10:42 a.m. [Update: In an update, the LAFD said two vehicles colldied on Metro Blue Line tracks, but no train was involved. Woman Dies After Being Struck by Blue Line; Scheduled Delays Over the Weekend

A woman in her 50s died this afternoon after she was struck by a northbound Metro Blue Line train in Watts. The incident, which occurred at 1:20 p.m. is being investigated by Sheriff's Deputies. Trains were delayed by 15 minutes and are now running on schedule. more ›
