Plenty of people were disappointed by the latest Indiana Jones adventure, but I thought there were enough vestiges of the original character to make it worthwhile. Note to George, though: you should have stuck with the Darabont draft. Small, foreign films need critical attention to draw in audiences and the AMPAS really blew it by not recognizing .

In what can only be considered a shocking debut, can maintain any momentum going forward is debatable since almost half of its weekend gross came from Friday audiences who rushed out to see the film to the tune of $26.9M.
There's really no point in me carping or teasing about Sex and the City since it's obviously not a movie for me. Early ticket sales are showing it to be a surprisingly big hit in its first weekend. Maybe it's success will convince HBO to get off its ass, throw out a big pile of money and put together features for on the big screen if Milch would explain what it was all about.

His show, called “First in Flight,” is an exhibition of photographs, featuring society fixture (and Danielle Steele offspring) Vanessa Traina, that appeared in Anthem Magazine’s winter issue. Kiino’s upcoming projects include shoots for Emmy Magazine, Stiil, an Estonian magazine, and an assignment in post-disaster New Orleans for Fit Pregnancy, creating images to accompany a woman who delivered her infant in one of the hospitals abandoned in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
We ran from our very last SXSW event - the It Takes a Nation of Millions to Make this Panel panel - and straight to the airport to return to Los Angeles. Mena Suvari was on the plane and we wanted badly to chat her up but didn't; we got caught up in traffic on the 101 (no shock) because of a Sherman Oaks lockdown while the police searched for a bank robbery suspect (again, no shock) and, now, we see there is a week of rain in our future. Wait, are we sure LAist hasn't turned into Seattlest?
