If you didn't know, Los Angeles is placed within quite a rare landscape, biologically speaking that is. There are only six Mediterranean Biomes in the world making up 2% of the world's land area and Southern California's coast and surrounding mountains are part of that. This is one of the reasons why congress in 1978 decided bring in the Santa Monica Mountains and the five northern Channel Islands into the Department of the Interior under the National Park Service. Mediterranean Fresh: Quality & Cheap Meals in Hollywood

       

In late December, Mediterranean Fresh finally opened their doors next to the famous Musso & Franks on Hollywood Blvd. Owned by the Sunset Entertainment Group--same people who operate the Pig & Whistle--this order and sit-down style restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at night, but they are hoping to keep it open until 4 a.m. once they get their liquor license. So far, we're finding the food to be quality matched by great prices. more ›

New 'Mediterranean Fresh' Restaurant Coming to Hollywood

       

The Hollywood corridor dining scene is getting more exciting. First there was Kitchen 24, then Loteria Grill and now the soon-to-be Mediterranean Fresh that has popped up over the last month. Not much information is out there yet, but according to a waiter from the next-door Musso & Franks, the restaurant is owned by the same people opening the bawdy international chain Supperclub, which opens in December in the Vogue Theatre next door and will be a place where "patrons eat and drink on actual beds while watching edgy performers (dominatrixes, opera singers, midgets on bicycles, etc.) during lavish multi-course meals," according to the LA Times. more ›
