You may have noticed a new button on our left-hand column with the title We See The Best Concerts. It dawned on us the other day that we really do go to the best concerts and we usually write about them the next day or a few days later. So here's a wrap up of all 37 shows we reviewed this month, with links to the posts just in case you missed it. Chris...

I'll admit that before Friday night's show I was not too famliar with Maximo Park. I had their first album A Certain Trigger but never gave it a proper listen ( which in the past two days I have and love it) but after Friday night I have been listening to not only Trigger but their just released Our Earthly Pleasures which is now one of my top albums of the year. Style is when the lead singer's shoes match the keyboardist's tie. Presence is Paul Smith not getting flummoxed by his rapidly deteriorating voice in only the band's second appearance in Los Angeles on their first tour through the US. Pop is convincing an LA crowd that you're for real by your second song.

Fresh off of impressing folks with their energetic set at SXSW, Art-pop band Maximo Park is at Cinespace tonight at 10pm. Cinespace's Tuesday rock nights are hosted by DJs Steve Aoki and Frankie Chan and they bring the true hard rock dance party if there is such a thing. Rumor also has it that this is the after party for Bloc Party's Troubadour show tonight as well as to celebrate the release of their new album today.
