An 18-year-old boy was shot and killed while attempting to rob a house, the Daily Breeze reports. The shooting happened in Lynwood at about 10 p.m. last night, according to police. The young man was shot by a resident of the home, which was in the 11000 block of Harris Avenue, and died at the scene. His name has not been released. more ›

Releasewatch: Lohan May Leave Lynwood Jail Today

Actress Lindsay Lohan is expected to be released from jail soon, possibly even today, according to KTLA. Once she leaves the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood she must report to a rehab facility within 24 hours, as ordered by Judge Marsha Revel the day Lohan surrendered to the court in Beverly Hills. She is likely to go to Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, which Revel endorses and expects to be tougher on Lohan than other suggested venues. There are some reports Lohan has received preferential treatment while in jail. Regardless, due to overcrowding, she will only be made to serve 13 or 14 days of her 90-day sentence. more ›

LA County SWAT Kills Man in Lynwood

A hostage situation led to the death of a suspect in Lynwood, a suburb just south of Los Angeles, last night. Around 9:00 p.m., sheriff's deputies responded to a call and found the wife of the suspect shot and wounded outside of her house. Inside, her husband had taken their 2-year-old daughter hostage. At 11:30 p.m., SWAT entered the household, shot and killed the man and rescued the daughter who was unharmed, according to the Associated Press. more ›
