Last night at Hotel Café, I had the privilege of seeing Fionn Regan on tour for his new album The End of History, released July 10th. Hailing all the way from County Wicklow, this twenty-six year old Irish lad is a combination of a folk singer and acoustic journeyman, traveling and telling his stories to those with open ears. Last night, alt-country hero Ryan Adams and his backing band, The Cardinals, played his only Los Angeles show on his tour for his 9th album, Easy Tiger, at the Wilshire Theater to a sold out audience. New Beverly Cinema owner Sherman Torgan died yesterday, unexpectedly, of a heart attack. Two local film blogs, Hollywood Elsewhere and Cinema is Dope are reporting it, and LAist has confirmed the sad news with the revival movie theater.
