LAst Night's Action: Rays Bedevil Angels

LAst Night's Action: Rays Bedevil Angels

Tampa Bay Rays defeat LA Angels 13-4. This Rays team is very good. The Rays got things started in the third inning with back-to-back-to-back homers by Evan Longoria, former Dodgers Willy Aybar and Dioner Navarro. The Angels would take the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, but the Rays came back in the top of fifth with five runs. The way the Rays are going, could a playoff appearance be in their future? more ›

LAst Night's Action: DeWitt Does It Again

LAst Night's Action: DeWitt Does It Again

LA Dodgers defeat Cincinnati Reds 6-5. It looked like Brad Penny was still suffering from a stiff arm struggling most of his outing giving up five runs on nine hits in six innings. But the Dodgers, with an assist to the poor Red's defense, got him out of the game with a tie. After a single and an error to leadoff hitter Russell Martin and a infield out by Jeff Kent to advance Martin to third in the bottom of the ninth, Red's reliever David Weathers walks both James Loney and Matt Kemp to load the bases. Uber-rookie supreme Blake DeWitt grounds a 2-2 pitch to left-center getting a walk-off RBI single. It's wasn't pretty, but a slump-busting win is a win. Andruw Jones sat out of the game with a "sore knee". The Reds now haven't won a game in Dodger Stadium since July 2005 during the Jim Tracy days. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Let's Hang Our Heads Now

LAst Night's Action: Let's Hang Our Heads Now

Houston Astros over LA Dodgers 5-0. For the third straight game the Dodger offense looked flat as the Astros were all over start Chad Billingsley who gave up all five runs in the first two innings. The only real positive for the Dodgers was their bullpen with Chan Ho Park pitching a shut out for three innings and Joe Beimel pitching a perfect ninth. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Get All Jazzed Up

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Get All Jazzed Up

LA Lakers over Utah Jazz 109-98. MVP Kobe Bryant and the Lakers showed that a six-day layoff wouldn't decrease their intensity as they spanked the Jazz Sunday afternoon. Before the sold-out crowd at Staples, the Jazz looked gassed in the fourth quarter from having played six tough games against the Houston Rockets in the first round. The MVP scored 38 points and went to the free-throw line a playoff career high 23 times only missing his last two attempts. The one point of concern for the Lakers was their job on the defensive boards. Utah grabbed 25 offensive rebounds, and if the Lakers hope to make this another short series they need to box out better. The Lakers have now won five straight playoff games. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Continue to Roll

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Continue to Roll

LA Lakers defeat Denver Nuggets 102-84. The thin air seemingly inconsequential, the Lakers continued to pound the Nuggets to ultimate self destruction. The Nuggets decided to be more defensive which seemed laughable at points, but their offense just couldn't get going. Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson combined for 10-38 shooting with 16 and 15 points respectively which just isn't going to get it done. The Lakers can close out the series on Monday in game 4 in Denver. more ›

LAst Night's Action: My New Boyfriend

LAst Night's Action: My New Boyfriend

LA Galaxy tie Houston Dynamo 2-2. This is the first professional soccer match I have attended, and it was a ton of fun. Landon Donavan made a spectacular diving header goal in the 67th minute off of a David Beckham pass that gave me the chills. But blah blah blah. The story of the night was meeting my new boyfriend Abel Xavier (pictured left). He is a defenseman born in Mozambique and has played for the Portugal national team. With a head of hair like that, how can I resist? more ›
