Whenever a fast food joint anywhere in the U.S. tries to mimic the wildly successful look or menu of SoCal's In-N-Out Burger, In-N-Out doesn't sit pretty--they sue. And so it goes with Grab-N-Go Burger of Aberdeen, Maryland, whose red and yellow logo has In-N-Out execs a little uncomfy with its proximity to their own.

London 2012 Olympics Logo: Iran Upset With Lisa Simpson
Iran is protesting the abstract date logo for London's 2012 Olympic Games claiming the numbers spell out the word "Zion." By contrast, we said it looked like Lisa Simpson on her knees in 2007 when it first debuted.
Starbucks, Minus the Coffee: New Logo Strips Down
Your daily cup of store-bought Starbucks brew just got a little nekkid, thanks to a logo redesign released today by the global coffeehouse powerhouse. Like any lady reaching the big four-oh, it was time for a bit of a makeover. The mermaid is bigger, and, apparently, like most of the half-dressed Hollywood celebutantes who carry her around in their skeletal hands while the paparazzi pounce, so easily recognized she doesn't need to say who she is.

Why is the Google homepage "doodle" or logo breaking up into a bunch of bouncing balls that seem to follow your mouse movement?
Street Food Festival Seeks Logo from Local Designers
Tons of people are plenty excited for the upcoming LA ♥'s Street Food Festival on February 13th. As the event approaches, organizer Shawna Dawson has put a call out on Twitter asking for designers: "Want to design the 1st LA Street Food Fest's logo? We're taking submissions now! Deadline Monday 12/21. Enter @ LALogoContest@gmail.com." There's no pay, but you'll definitely get some street cred (oh, and free food and drink for themselves and family/friends, compliments of the event organizers during the festival).
Memo From Fast Food CEO Jack Box: Time For a Makeover!
You might think it's just fast food, but for national chain Jack in the Box, image is everything. The company is announcing today via iconic "mouthpiece" CEO Jack Box they are embarking on "a major brand overhaul that includes a new modern logo, the debut of sliders and a makeover at more than 2,000 restaurants," according to the OC Register's Fast Food Maven. Rumors swirled about logo changes last year when they tested new signage at locations in San Diego, where the restaurant began in 1951 and remains headquartered today. CEO Jack hasn't been "seen" since the SuperBowl, when he was hit by a bus, stirring fears among fans and loyalists that the sphere-headed spokesman would be gone forever. Something tells us, though, most people won't care what the logo looks like as long as they can still get two tacos for 99 cents!

Interview: Santino Rice Loves Judging RuPaul's Drag Race
LAist has watched Project Runway with Santino Rice and thrown finale parties. We have followed his career through amazing times of designing Joanne Heyler's gown for the BCAM opening to visiting his magical design studio downtown. So when Santino told LAist he would be a judge for RuPaul's new reality show, we knew it would be something special.
Drag Race at World of Wonder: The View from Outside
Tonight RuPaul's Drag Race premieres on LOGO. World of Wonder in Hollywood threw a wild opening party for the show last week filled with drag-themed artwork. The turnout was tremendous and the room quickly went from "SRO" to Fire Marshall at the door". The event was at capacity and under threat of being shut down even before the red carpet was finished. Which left the stars of the show, RuPaul, A-list invitees and certain (cough) photographers stranded outside.
